I couldn't help but see the burning of Paradise as Jerry Brown's cynical parting gesture to California as he left office. Since Newsom is being hounded out of office, I can only imagine how cynical and resentful his policies will become, and have been. I didn't realize all the water infrastructure money was pocketed, although I know that Pelosi's husband made off with the high speed rail money and we got no high speed rail for our billions of tax dollars.
