Hello frens. I just read over our districts reopening plan and they are still entertaining the kungflu agenda, but masks are optional if you sign an opt out form and if someone in the class comes down with it the unmasked automatically get 10 day quarantine. So i guess besides the covid restrictions that i am not happy with, plus them being tracked on their school ipads, what would be more reasons to homeschool? We did it for the last month of this year and I prefer it but husband thinks they need to be in the system in order for us to fight for them and be taken seriously by the school board. I know they are looking forward to going back to school, but my gut is telling me no. I need to convince the husband, please help.

Thank you, that was very well written, and I agree with all of it.
Best I could do in a couple of minutes, glad I could be of some help.
We homeschool. That was the goal to begin with, but corona made the choice elementary. School system is bad enough, but when you see what further some of them are doing (mask mandates, space, etc) it becomes ever more like a prison for the mind and body. This isn't even to consider the race war material they are putting into schools now. When I was a child, you would have NEVER seen a poster advertising a specific excellence of race or achievement. It would simply be that there was an American astronaut, or whatever. I was recently on site at a school (elementary) for some work and I observed so much material there that shocked me. Just little things at times, like posters talking about "BLACK EXCELLENCE IN SPACE" - why do we need to break it down by race for children? Well, if we're breeding some race war the reason is evident. It should be American excellence in space, regardless of race.
My child attended a public Kindergarten, but that's the farthest it went and we still have problems due to her attendance there (destroying the desire to learn, etc).
Husband really wants son to experience school, he will be in kindergarten. I asked son "are you sure you want to go to school, you will have to get up super early?" And he responded, "nope, homeschool, i dont want to wake up early".... me too son, me too. Lol Daughter going into secpnd grade said only reason she wanted to go to school was to see her friend, not good enough a reason. So presenting all my info to hubs soon, wish me luck.
I made the decision to home school many years ago. It was not a popular decision with some of my family members, including my husband at the time. My children are 28 and 30 years old now and I can honestly say it's been the best decision I ever made. BY FAR.
Last night we all went out for dinner to celebrate a birthday. We were chatting away about the latest bullshit "Delta Variant" news when my oldest son suddenly thanked me LOUDLY & PUBLICLY for both not vaccinating and for home schooling him.
I thank God every day for the blessing of two strong healthy smart sons who are able to think critically. But the gift of really truly knowing your children and watching them grow and mature DAILY into fine young adults is priceless. I can't imagine having it any other way.
Having said all that, one son did want to participate in sports and the other in music. We were able to do wrestling, football and band through our school district. Additionally, one son took calculus online through the state because I am not a math genius?
By the time kids reach high school they're really teaching themselves anyways.
