In the past few years our national anthem has brought tears to my eyes whenever I hear it, and a fire burns in my breast. It just seems to have more meaning with all we've been through recently. We only ever sing one verse, but the rest of the verses are just as moving and just as meaningful. Take some time to listen to this video (with lyrics included) and contemplate what this song means. Regardless of what Francis Scott Key might have been thinking when he penned this, I cannot help but think there is something prophetic in the words, like a forecast of our destiny.
