The Southern District of New York likely had a visitor explain to them the consequences of TREASON. There would be a military tribunal, a 10 minute trial with no lawyers present, a quick verdict... and a last meal request.
The Manhattan DA is a District Attorney for the City of New York. Not a Federal DA under the DOJ as the Southern District of New York is. One would be State charges, the other Federal. Two completely different courts. Having said that, I doubt the SDNY is going to do shit either. But as far as i know the SDNY hasn't made any press announcement about charges.
