For the past couple of weeks in my town, many of the stores here haven't had the chance to restock items, leaving many empty shelves. There are three regular stores I frequent where I have talked to the employees, and they confirmed that regular shipments aren't coming in, or they only have half the items that are usually delivered. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? I remeber that there was talk of a planned food shortage in the U.S on GAW about two months or so ago, so it definitely piqued my curiosity after personally encountering some weird situations.

I work in industrial supply chain and it's a disaster! We don't have enough people to pick orders... our manufacturing partners are giving us lead times that once were 2-3 days are now 3-5 weeks... for the same issue... not enough employees... just to get us to pre-covid numbers we would need to hire ~2800 employees in the US alone... employees are exhausted and customers are pissed... and if they offer more money to those that are just getting back to work as those who have worked this whole time they'll risk walkouts.
Oh, that makes a lot of sense! Thanks for all your hard work in the industrial chain!
Are there masks mandates or Vax mandates? These things are really starting to turn a lot of people off.
No the company I work for is amazing! They have made it very clear that they will never force us to get the Vax. And where masks are concerned they only make us follow whatever the local government is requiring.
Here are my observations from am e-commerce company that sells to consumers and does our own manufacturing. We do about 10 million a year from our own ecommerce storefront. We do not use Amazon or any other marketplace. We want total control. Our FedEx deliveries are delivered on time about 79% of the time. This includes 1 day and 2 day air domestic packages. Anything made out of plastic has huge lead times (6 months) this includes plastic containers for products and other plastics used for our manufacturing process. We have been looking for suitable help for months. This is not minimum wage jobs. It pays between 36 to 42 grand a year and include generous profit sharing and 401K benefits. We like to do in person interviews and I have 2 people bail on me without cancelling the appointment. People that contact us showing us interest and then not responding when we call back is very common. We use Indeed.com, Zip Recruiter, and Craigslist for recruiting. We have never had problems hiring before. I am in WA State and have been in business for 23 years. Sometimes I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone
