Just got word the US Army making covid vax mandatory in a few months (don't want to mention the date). Refusal to take it will result in dishonorable discharge, which can destroy any future career, etc. Any ideas, especially from those in the military? Asking for a friend.

Dishonorable discharge is considered a felony, impacting employment, getting loans, 2a rights, etc.
I don’t know if there any options. When you sign the contract you become Government property. I remember being told in initial training we had to wear sun screen, we didn’t because we were young and were of the mindset sun screen is for pussies. Needless to say some of the people got pretty sun burned. We were highly encouraged to wear it going forward lest we be charged with Article 109 - destruction of Government property. Also another instance I could cite was around 08-09 they made swine flu vax mandatory. I was doing my due diligence and saw they were fucking people up. Posed a hypothetical to my Chief Master Sergeant asking what would happen if I refused to take it, to which I was promptly informed a court martial. I know it isn’t the advice you’re looking for, but that is my experience.
