Let's not. DDG is commie garbage (check their donations and ties).

Use https://search.brave.com (for normal information, shopping, restaurants, maps)

And use Qwant, Swisscows, Yixin for sensitive/censored information.

I am skeptical of DDG as well.

I just tried brave and typed in decoding symbols.

Brave uses Google in its backend while cutting Google out. Good for practical purposes.

If you want to search sensitive information I recommend Qwant, Swisscows, Yixin or such.
