I saw the melted candle. We had that problem when I was growing up in NC. My mother fixed it. She got a broomstick and cut two pieces the same length as her candles. Then she whittled one end of each, painted them red, poked a hole with an ice pick, and pushed a piece of string in the hole. She then had some nice-looking candlesticks that would never melt or droop.
120+ in Canada is hard to believe. The highest it's ever been here in the South in NC was 110.
