The SF Giants announcers were talking about the starting pitcher suffering from a mild COLD…and he was actually in the game at the time. That’s the first time I’ve heard MSM say anything about anyone having a cold in the past year…and not automatically calling it COVID.

Thanks for that…I hadn’t heard. I think the smart teams are advising players to not get the jab…I’ve noticed quite a few players in the dugouts still wearing masks…I just figure those are the smart players who refused to get the shots.
that's been my supposition too (wearing mask = no jab). I know Dusty Baker has been an exception; he enthusiastically got the jab (well, one of them at least) and dropped the mask for a while... then a bunch of vaxxed Yankees players/coaches tested positive and had to quarantine, and Dusty has worn a mask ever since. So sad since he smartly make a comparison back in spring the Tuskeegee Experiment, but then he said a doctor he trusts talked him into the vax.
But in terms of teams getting a competitive advantage this season, I would think there are two things they could do. One, as you say - discourage them from getting the shot. That would rile the commish if he knew this to be the case, so they'd have to keep it pretty hushed. Two - they could offer their vaxxed players supplements like bromelain and acetylcysteine to help them manage the side fx better than their opponents.
The saddest thing has been this program to vaccinate fans in exchange for tickets.... poisoning the public and your fanbase in particular is just... demonic.
