I absolutely agree with this. Chivalry is not dead, but nowadays it’s more rare and it takes a more masculine, mature man to understand it and exercise it. Of course I live in the south, so we have more chivalry in general. To the people who say this is a bad idea—imagine if it were your mom or sister or girlfriend or daughter being preyed upon... and there was someone who could have stopped it!
I always try to look out for others and I’m happy to see that idea is not dead. In fact I think some gentlemen did this for me a few weeks ago at a gas station in a known rough part of town, where unfortunately just bad timing and planning caused me to have to stop for gas. It looked like they waited until I was in my car before they headed out, and I really appreciated it.
