For one, I worry about the psychological effects. Second, I worry about the pedos and traffickers who use the site. Not to mention all the rest of it. My wife justifies it saying “it’s set on private and I can monitor everything and only their little friends can see it. She doesn’t want to hear me about how that really doesn’t matter when you look behind the scenes at the social media sites. Please send me some reputable and objective info about why these sites are so bad so I can show her. Thanks in advance.

Yes. The easiest one is that it is literally illegal for any American company to allow a child under the age of 13 to open an account. There is a reason for that. Maybe you should have her read about COPPA - https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/rules/rulemaking-regulatory-reform-proceedings/childrens-online-privacy-protection-rule
Or you could always report the account to Tik Tok and they will have to terminate it. :)
