I left Facebook before November, can't quite remember when but boy was I happier. As a former shot machine addict, it was very similar. I lost contact with everyone I'd known since high school and most of my very large extended family and I love it. The thing is, just the relief of having one's brain be one's own. There's also the realization that this is much more how life was intended. I talk to my own family and community. If I'm interacting with someone all the time, they're actually in my life. I even talk on the phone now, and love it, instead of feeling like "don't disturb my phone addiction by actually calling me". There's so much value in hearing a person's tone, or better yet seeing their face, and navigating a conversation person to person. It was part of a long process of God shaking our family roots free of old soil to replant us somewhere better. It was an early step in a process that changed everything and really contributed to our awakening. I can't stress enough how harmful these Social Media sites are (the big names) especially FB. It's an open door to every temptation the devil can roll out.
