If mom has to scrape change together to buy gas, how is she going to buy food? Scrape more change together? I grew up very poor. I know what hunger feels like and it is terrible. I worked hard to provide for myself and my family and now I don't live like that. Through hard work and determination I pulled myself out of the low income. My white privilege didn't feed me when I was hungry and didn't put a roof over my head when I was homeless. Anyone can do the same, no matter the race, gender or religion.
