Yup, the real problem is dependency. Its why diesel is propagandized by the environmentalists. Diesel engines are great. Mine runs on 50/50 vegatable oil and whatever the pump is calling diesel. It could run 100%, but I'm wary of testing limits right now. The engines can run clean and efficient and last much longer than gasoline or hybrid, and judging by OP picture, electric engines too. And innovation has been fought hard, hydrogen diesel hybrids work. Cleaner, more efficient, more power, diesels can handle the extra heat.
Off my ramble, tldr, more choices, honest disclosure, free debate. Electric cars are great, if you are off grid 100% energy self-reliant, solar/diesel generator/self-supplied fuel source. Consumers can do their due dilligence.
