well the theory I've seen floated around is that large corporations are creating environmental damage (not necessarily "climate change") and then turning around and saying we need leftist government to fix such problems

instead maybe there is real environmental damage but we could voluntarily deal with it without having to have a big government to police things (pollution for example in libertarian thought has been thought to be a violation of property rights at times)
