Hardly making up sins. It's called lust. This is from Jesus sermon on the mount.
Matthew 5:27-30- "You have heard the commandment that says you must not commit adultery. But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. So if your eye- even your good eye- causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your hand- even your stronger hand- causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."
Not saying it's easy in the world we live in where literally everything you see is designed to get us to lust, but it is sin. Thankfully we have the blood shed on the cross to redeem us because we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
It's one thing to be shown the path, it's an entirely different problem to walk it. I'd like to see them try to quit... just try. I dare you. See what kind of excuses you can come up with when you relapse. It is 100% an addiction problem.
For those asking for "proof" it shouldn't be our job to find it for you
