Damn, I just cleaned-up my emails a few hours ago and trashed plenty of them, including my friend's response and my reply.
He was not impressed and went into a lot of mumbo jumbo about patents, numerous patents for the same thing, it's not unusual, blah, blah, blah. He admitted that he was not experienced to comment on the microbiology. He was on the fence as to whether or not the virus was accidentally or purposely released. Then, he emphasized that he did not think this was a planned event and started glorifying Bill Gates, calling him a genius. saying that he personally met Gates in some kind of group event and had dinner with him.
My reply was strong. I told him David Martin had impressed me more than anybody since the start of this debacle, and that I believed every word he said, adding that I had to believe in somebody in addition to God and myself. Then, I proceeded to profusely criticize Gates.
We're still friends because he is a person who listens, a person you can have a good 2-way conversation with and also disagree with in a non-argumentative way.
Gee...I wish I had your email-cleanup habits....as my inbox and sent folders are brimming!
I can understand his response: he's a pro-Gates guy, and this patent history is a long and complicated one unraveled by Martin. Your friend would really have to be motivated and focussed to give a good solid opinion on all this data. Can you imagine how long it took Martin to discover and research all this....with all the intricacies and patent maneuvering ? Oh well. Nice you are still friends, and you can talk and discuss things still. Always good to challenge one's ideas with others, as we all learn something that way.
I'd be interested in your friend's take on this, if you can post later on. Thanks.
