I dunno how true this is. In terms of antibiotics, the reason why they are by prescription only is because how dangerous they are in the sense that if people don't fully kill the bacteria then the ones that survived the damage will get stronger and evolve which is why antibiotics over time become ineffective. I would assume that goes the same for a virus. From what I understand a virus is it just is a generic coding makeup like us except it needs us to be the host for it to survive.
every mutation in a virus (which is not alive) gets weaker not stronger. we don't know for sure if bacteria (which is alive) gets stronger or more resistant to antibiotics or if the antibiotics are being purposely weakened.
