Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default. This is for the Samsung S21 Ultra, at least that's what was causing the problem on this model.
Finally got in there this morning and found exactly what you described! I'm no tech expert so thanks for responding with detailed steps. I got Google turned off & I have tested it out. Voila! I will no longer look like a stuttering Byeden-thanks again!!
You're very welcome. Seems like there's a number of issues on the Samsung S21s with the last code "upgrade ". Our chief council at work can't hear when calling. Turns out it's code related but only T-mobile and Sprint seem to be affected. Mine is Verizon and doesn't have an issue. Anyways the work around is to go into settings and turn off 5G...or continuously reboot the phone throughout the day.
Accessibility> More Settings> Text-to-Speech> Preferred Engine
then I get a choice of:
Samsung text-to-speech Engine
Google text-to-speech Engine
It will only let me select one. If you have two going, maybe you need to check Google settings, or something else? I'm technologically-challenged, so this is the best I can do.
The latest Samsung software release for S21 Ultra turns both engines on by default. I just turned the Google engine off and solved the problem on both my phone and big bosses phone. Needed to score a few points with him anyway hahahaha
I'm on Verizon too and my biggest complaint other than this issue is that I am never notified of voice mails. Most of the time I get the notification 3 days later, really helpful! So let me know if you have any tips for that crap lol!!
Pardon me for taking your advice, but where in the hell do I find this in settings ?My phone duplicates sentences all the time and it drives me crazy!

I haven't seen that issue. Are you by chance using the Visual Voice-mail thingy? If so, maybe try turning that off.
