Freedom IS anti-government. Remember that and teach it to your children. Is OP's intent to say that NYT is wrong as usual or finally correct?

You're completely right. And it's time people paid attention to this detail.

Just about any atrocity in human history was caused or exacerbated by governments with too much power.

That said, the NYT is clearly going for an "evil erectionists" kind of spin.
