Got this from a Facebook post. Shortages are going to get really bad.

Well I thought OP was pretty clear on the produce rotting. I'll post somewhere else but just needed to say this is what the commies did in Cuba and in Chile, let the food rot on the docks and shoot anyone trying to get it out, in those cases with Chinese-provided rifles...
Then food vouchers are given out, selectively, for whatever's left, elites never feel any pain. We need to flip that script. The normies didn't learn from Puerto Rico, amazingly.
At this point, stock up on nonperishable basics and figure out who your friends are.
That would be incredibly stupid to spend every cent you own on just a year's supply of canned potatoes. You need to buy some of everything you normally use. That's the only way to survive well for more than a day. Work on having a week's worth of supplies in storage, then a month, then a year.
You can preserve meat by canning, so you need some jars, lids, and a canner. I have an American Standard pressure canner, which is the best, as it doesn't use a gasket for the lid.
You should learn how to garden. You'd be surprised how much food you can grow in a small yard. You can also sow seeds in parks and along roadsides. Many people don't even know what their food looks like in the wild. So you could be wandering up and down the road gathering supper.
If you think you don't have space for storage, you haven't thought it through. There is storage behind your couch, under your bed, and other places. Also, you may have really useless things that could be removed.
Of course bad things can happen. So are you just going to do nothing and sit in your room and cry?
I plan on surviving anything our enemies come up with. For natural events, there are measures to take, such as not living anywhere near Yellowstone or in places that flood a lot, or near big cities.
