When I'm asked if I'm vaccinated I will stroll into this interesting little story. "Well my doctor told me I shouldn't take the covid vaccine because I'm going to be taking a new untested experimental gene altering therapy to reduce my chance of dying from a rare form of cancer that I have a 1 in 10,000 chance of infection. If I am infected I have a very small chance that I could die from it. Because of this he very strongly recommends that I take this new experimental therapy, but I understand it may really mess up my immune system for the rest of my life. But I do want to be safe from this rare form of cancer. Do you think I should do it?" So far the answer has always been "yes, I think you should do it to be safe."
