Under the governor's direction, the state of Florida sued the CDC in April, saying that Congress had never granted it the authority to regulate health and safety standards on cruise ships. He said the CDC's restrictions were illegal and harmful to Florida's economy.
A U.S. district judge granted the state a preliminary injunction against the CDC in June, but the CDC appealed the injunction. On Saturday, a three-judge appellate court panel delayed the injunction in a 2-1 decision issued a day before the injunction was set to take place.
On Monday, DeSantis pledged to appeal the decision all the way up to the Supreme Court so that cruise ships could operate without CDC interference.
damn, desantis is killin it lately!
He should win because the CDC has no law enforcement authority whatsoever. Frankly the CDC should be defunded and flushed down the toilet.
Our taxes go to so much waste. Most of these alphabet agencies need to go.
Forensic audit for all of them.
This will be interesting to watch.
Cruise lines seems to have fully embraced this medical totalitarianism CDC or not. They're demanding that 95% of guests be vaxed, and in Norwegians case 100%. If you're on the ship and un vaxed they're are large portions of the ship you're not allowed to go and venues you can't visit and yet you're being charged the same prices as a "fully vaxed" person. Here's an idea... fuck the cruise lines! Don't give them a dime of your money. You can't pay for brand new billion+ dollar ships (I'm looking at you RCI) on 60% capacity and only vaxed people. As these cruise lines keep burning through reserve cash they will drop all this shit like a hot potato by the end of the year or they will go bankrupt.
DeSantis seems to be making all the right moves.
