Maybe I've forgotten where I am, but I don't believe in that and there are plenty of Trump Conservatives (it's a necessary distinction) who aren't religious at all or agnostic, or like myself, believe in a higher power beyond description that is closer to Far Eastern religious ideas of what God is.
However, I recognize that Christianity and therefore Christendom, that is to say every civilization that ever developed with Christianity as the major religion are all of the same civilizations that gave birth to the very concepts of classical liberalism and the western way of life that we are all accustomed to. Human Rights. Equality. Welfare for the less fortunate. Freedom of speech. Freedom period.
Never would have come into existence anywhere else. I don't believe it would have because don't see it anywhere that Christians haven't been.
Almost everything you understand as basic decency and simple morality came out of Christendom. I say that word instead of Christianity or "the Church" because I am referring to the society that evolved around that religion. The latter being a corrupt organization exploiting people's faith for wealth, and also keeping the poor from eating the rich. But I don't necessary think the latter is inherently wrong.
True or not, Christ's disciples described him as a gentle man who healed the sick, performed miracles, and told people to be nice to each other. Muhammad was a psychopathic, bloodthirsty, warlord pedophile. His entire religion is built around oppressing women and conquest.
I pick Jesus. I am a Christian in the sense that I try to follow most of the teachings of Christ. But you won't catch me in Church or defending the King James Bible, or any of it's other thousands of iterations. But I won't open that can of worms.
But how do you know that? Aren’t you supposed to question everything I'm guessing you believe biblical christianity because your were raised that way.
