NO..I was already recognizing his dementia but in my experience with some people with dementia. They do have good days where the truth slips out because the filter in their brains doesn't work anymore. A normally very polite and respectful person will start letting what they really think out. Pressure will just make that happen more often. No wonder they keep handlers close to turn away the press when his so called gaffes occur.
