I hope he finds the path and does the work and owns the consequences of his own transgressions. It is heavily implied by Q that he leaked the laptop intentionally.

I don't feel sorry for him either -- pity is worthless. I would encourage him to do all that he can to redeem himself in spite of the wrongs committed against him. Its the honorable path.
