Need as In I promised my 2013 Jeep to my son who is in the Air Force and needs a vehicle. I'm currently sharing it with my daughter who no longer has a vehicle. I'm not a mechanic and have no desire to learn how to be a mechanic. So yes, I actually NEED a vehicle to get to work. Do I want to drive a beater? Not really. I can easily afford a brand new vehicle but that's not the point. The point is I'm not going to saddle myself with a car note if my wife and I both get let go for not taking the death vax. I could pay cash if I wanted too, but that would destroy my savings. Also, 2 year of cars are going for more than what the buyers paid right now. Think about that for a second. The car market is completely out of whack.
Well, I would say I'm actually great at facing reality. The reality is, I need to plan for the worse, and that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm NOT going to overspend on a new vehicle. If you read the post it's my wife who doesn't understand. We make a very good loving doing what we do. But if I have to over pay for a piece of shit car that's what I'll do. You sound a bit condescending in your post. Maybe you don't understand what's going on in the car market right now. But ALL vehicles are overpriced. Not just new. 10 year old cars that would normally sell for 5-10K are selling for 15k. So piece of shit car or a good car. You are going to over pay.

I agree with you, don't take on any more debt until you know what's going to happen with your jobs. Stay strong!

Which is exactly why you don't understand what I'm saying. Because you didn't read it. Stop judging people you don't know.
