I would be extremely skeptical of any such claims being made about British Columbia’s use of “Evergreen”. As a native of the lowermain land I must point out the majority of trees here are evergreen and we tend to name things after trees... Aldergrove, Maple Ridge, Walnut Grove, Willowbrook...

I’m not denying that...

I’m just pointing out that “Evergreen” and British Columbia go hand in hand. So as a local, I’m saying that it’s more likely this is a coincidence.
