See: The French Revolution.

The French are often viewed as cowards, but that seems to be mostly due to their actions/Vichy government in WWII. Based on the French protests in the past week or so, it's looking like they're rediscovering their French Revolution roots, which also started with massive protests. They turned their guillotine process during the revolution into a form of entertainment, so Macron and other PTB in France should perhaps be very afraid.
