A while back I seen a map of the potential fallout from the Three Gorges Dam collapsing. It marked the regions of the which were likely to be effected, and, the corresponding populations of each region.
The number of potential deaths was huge, in the hundreds of thousands or millions.
I've since tried to find that map again, without much luck yet.
I did find three similar maps, but they aren't the same ones. Two from Reddit, here and here, and one from another website, here. The last of these three is the closest to the one I had previously seen, though, of much lower quality. The first two are higher quality, but, without populations written down.
Does anyone happen to have a map like the one which I have described above?
Edit:
Found it. Backed up here. Not sure if it is an accurate figure, and wasn't as high quality as I remembered.
I have heard of a more terryfing scenario, that when this mass of water hits the sea its sheer weight will deform the earths crust leading to tectonic plate slipping, great volcanic activity and earthquakes.
Some doomers are saying that this might happen all over the pacific rim from New Zealand to California, where Yellowstone is. I hope and pray they are wrong.
The sheer mass of water is a problem near the dam because it is confined in a gorge. However, it will spread long before it gets to the sea. This is a wild speculation about triggering earthquakes and since there are already earthquake or volcanic zones all along the coast of Asia from Kamchatka to Australia, it is bound to be "verified" into "truth." Look at this map for a few days and you'll see earthquakes happen all the time. https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/?extent=-78.83607,-322.03125&extent=61.10079,-74.53125
Likewise, here is a map of active volcanoes. You can see how they match the earthquake zones and conclude that you too can be a disaster prophet in the whole area there. https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/volcano-map.html
