Can we get a list of MUST DOs for when the shit hits the fan and we will be having to survive to get through it? For example, Food shortages, the black out, out of control crime, conflict, war etc.?

What are you prepping for/against? Tornadoes are different than job loss and different than civil unrest. Figure out all the possible risks (this is a risk mitigation strategy) and rank order them
Be open with your family. This is about your responsibility to care for them. Go alone if you must, and don't nag, but be resolute in meeting your responsibilities. Build a family plan
Remember the Rule of 3's: you can survive 3 minutes without oxygen, 3 hours (in extreme conditions) without shelter, 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food. Overlay the list with the priority events above and integrate security and hygiene/medicine across all categories.
Do not over extend yourself. Panic buying of "stuff" will only make you feel more overwhelmed. Make incremental progress toward established goals. Buy food that you actually eat, integrate a gravity water filter into your daily routine. Do things that will increase your practical skills. like gardening and camping. Take classes if necessary (especially for technical stuff like medical or communications/electronics). Network with like minded people - neighborhood, church, sitting in the bleachers at your son's Little League game.....
Exercise!!!
Be adaptable
