I have close ties to Ft Myer and Old Guard. Those errors in protocol would NEVER happen. NEVER, unless it was intentional. The traditions, protocols, and history all dictate that pomp and circumstance are done the exact same way every time for like events. Kind of like McCain's casket almost being dropped in AZ, though that wasn't Old Guard..
