Sister: Several young people we know including one of Terry's roommates in New York City right now just tested positive for Covid. There was a small outdoor wedding on Long Island and 45 people tested positive. Outdoors! The Delta variant is very contagious. You are not vaccinated and even if you got vaccinated now you would not have good immunity buildup until weeks after your second shot. Terry's roommate who is a young 21-year-old guy in good health had such a bad headache that they had to go to the emergency room last night. This is no joke.

Me: (showed pic from cdc site showing vexed people are more likely to get delta) I love you for being worried for my safety but in truth I am more worried about you I just haven’t said anything because it’s too late, according to this cdc data I’m less likely to get infected than I would be if I got the vax.  I’ve said again and again it’s a brand new experimental therapy of which you are a human trial participant and I just want to wait for more to be known about not just the effects, of which I could send you countless pictures and obituaries of people who have died or have crippling side effects, but the efficacy, and as more time goes by the results are showing that the vaccinated people are more at risk.  Based on the July data it’s plain to see that if I were vaxxed I would be more likely to get Covid.  The plain truth is that we both believe with every fiber of our being that we are right and are not likely to change our minds.  For my age and level of health I have a 99.97% chance of having nothing more than flu like symptoms after which I will have full immunity. I’m not going to take a gene therapy, every fiber of my being is telling me not to.  At this time I do not want to betray my instincts. If I change my mind it won’t be because of people dying of Covid but it will be because enough data on the long term effects of this new technology drug is known.  As scared as you are for me, I am so scared for you. I don’t want to lose you to blood clots or heart or brain swelling or anything else because I love you.

Me: I regularly hold back from sending you info I find because I won’t send you anything from a source that I can’t verify first. I assume that most sources like factcheck.org who does all of facebooks covid related fact checking could have secret conflicts of interest. It was recently discovered that factcheck.org is owned by a company with billions invested in pharmaceutical companies. Like when Monsanto shows a report that roundup is safe enough to drink but the report was made by a company owned by Monsanto. I’ve never heard of Kristen Panthagani but later tonight I will try to learn more about her.

Sister: Right but did you understand the math? The vaccine doesn’t prevent you from getting the virus. It just helps you get less sick. As an increased percent of the population gets vaxed, there will be an increase in vaccinated people getting Covid and statistically some will end up in the hospital. The more people are vaxed, the more those numbers go up. But statistically, the ones who are in the ICU and dying, are unvaxed. Ask any doctor who is dealing with it on the front lines. Forget about the source of the article. It’s just explaining the math.

Me: I can’t meaningfully read it right now but I will tonight. I will mention that I am open to seeing accurate data regardless of the source as it’s the data that’s important, when I mentioned to mom that Rand Paul has info suggesting Fauci funded gain of function research in wuhan and elsewhere, the info was not regarded as genuine because of the source. I can’t share anything with her if it doesn’t come from a leftwing source. Are you open to seeing things I find, even if they come from “right wing” sources?

Me: This is not data. It’s explaining the math behind the data you are seeing.

In the example you sent above, Mass is a highly vaccinated state. I’m giving you an exaggerated example but if you had an area where 99% of the population got vaccinated and there was an outbreak, the vast majority of infected people would be people who were vaccinated because the vaccine doesn’t stop the virus from entering your body. So if you tested everyone for Covid, it would look like vaccinated people were more likely to get Covid off the majority of people are vaxed. That’s what the article is trying to explain.
