My husband went to a kidney specialist the other day. He wanted him to take a genetic test since his father died of kidney disease. I asked what benefit that would be to my husband, and all he could come up with was to see if it was hereditary. “What difference does it make” at this point. He already is in stage 4. Something nefarious is going on with wanting to collect DNA. 21 and me, Ancestry. Com, Covid testing, pregnancy testing, cologuard testing for colon cancer-I don’t trust any of them anymore. I do not consent to my DNA being sent to foreign countries or for experimentation without full informed consent. Needless to say, we declined. We also declined Covid testing when he was admitted to the hospital and the nurses and doctors needed to use isolation. Some of them were pissed, you could tell. Twice they tried to get him to take the Covid shot. This is how illogical health care is: no testing the entire 6 hours in the ER, no gowning and masking, but when they decided to admit, wanted to test for Covid and give the Covid shot. Explain that logic to me as a nurse.
