I'm old enough to remember the MSM narrative surrounding the creation of the EU. It was sold to the public as "only an economic union, to help European nations compete in the global market with a unified Euro currency." Skeptics claimed that it would lead to the formation of a new Soviet style governance over European nations. Hindsight proves the skeptics correct, and the MSM as commie propaganda pushing liars, as usual.
