Looks like pectus excavatum to me. My son had that deformity to his chest but most of the time, like in our case, no surgery is needed. Most of the time it's not life threatening. His even looks fairly normal from the outside which is what she(Dr) was talking about but apparently the inside was much worse.
It can take a turn for the worse as you get older which is what happened to Crowder and my best friend. Most people have it corrected in their youth so there aren’t a lot of doctors out there who are used to performing the surgery on adults. Or at least there weren’t 10 years ago when my friend had the surgery. The recovery time is very slow and painful.
