Bought a portable DVD player that is rechargeable with a bunch of classic old DVDs from the Bin. I expect the 100% internet of things and electrical grid to be weaponized for political ends.
We have to look at life and collect things that are not dependent on an internet connection.
I’ve been buying dvds and Blu-ray’s lately. I’m sick of turning on Netflix or Hulu with some little kid thinking he’s trans or 5 gay guys showing a cis white male how to bathe. Fucking over it.
I thought I was the only one who did this! My daughter will freak out if the internet goes down so I have a bunch of DVDs (to include anime) sudoku books, word search books, etc. She's a teen and you know how they can melt down when things don't go their way!
Yes I also have been stocking up on dvd's and blurays. They are dirt cheap. Chaplin, John Wayne, Abbott and Costello, Gilliam and classics.
I even am skipping out on the new consoles. Once i found out PS5 spiderman had BLM crap in it that was the last straw. I have the Switch and an emulator with a physical copy of every game we play.
Most of these things are distractions anyway. It has helped me to focus on being a creator/maker again. Quiet time making things leads to a healthier mindset.
My local pawn shop has 1000's of dvds at $1 each:)))
Look up Plex server and MakeMKV program for backing up your media to digital format for playback. That way you can have all your media on digital format that can be streamed to home devices like phone or tv.
That's awesome, I need to do that. There really needs to be a way to legally distribute edited versions of shows/movies.
LOL preaching to the choir! Libraries are a great place to get books. They put the ones they want to get rid of usually in the front where you walk in.
Our library bundles up books into "mystery" packages. My daughter loves to buy those. She reads the first chapter of each one just to give it a chance to see if she likes the author or genre.
That is awesome!
Have you been around a PMSing teen?
No, I live alone under a rock.
If it's PMS then regulate her diet and exercise better.
But if your kid is melting down when the internet goes off there's much more at play.
Same, but I've been building an archive of orchestral/classical music CDs for...at least a decade now
Smart
Since the powers that be seem intent on destroying history, I figured it only appropriate to preserve the music that contributed to human advancements. Plus I could never pick just one album to listen to after a collapse!
They would never destroy the classics, those have stood the test of time, They only destroy the modern history of the people they want to destroy. So I'd be backing up Elvis, Beach Boys, Sting, Men at Work, Pink Floyd, etc...
Don't worry about the Beatles or artists like Jon Lennon, those have always been artists funded by satanists, that music will be around forever to be used to control minds.
