Phones and other devices listening. I've heard of faraday bags but what is the practical solution both for conversations and overall health?

You can us corrugated tin on your house, that is what Verizon wireless did when they built a new store in my town. They did the roof and all exterior walls. Corrugated tin will act as a faraday cage from an emp pulse.
Galvanised corrugated steel is way less expensive than tin.
Obviously, your cellphone won't work indoors (and it will flatten its battery trying so switch it right off).
Tin or steel just not fiberglass. Yes Galvanized is the important part. Cell phones don't work in the back part of the store. I think that was the idea plus it keeps their stock safe from an emp. If we were attacked by emp most of the infrastructure would be fried anyway.
