I work at a grocery store at the beach in NC. We have been much more open than many surrounding communities, but directives from state authorities or corporate management still affect the day to day where they overrule the local sentiment.
What I have observed in the last 12 months is that the vast majority of people are unconvinced by the MSM/ Biden admin narrative, but are actually savvy to how to go on living their lives without causing issues for local businesses.
No one was wearing masks Monday morning, except for a few seniors and the unvaxxed employees. The mask mandate for all came back as of 1pm Monday.
By today, maybe 50- 60% were wearing masks.
I needed to start working again. My supervisors need their jobs. My managers need their jobs. We are all following the protocols in the store to keep our jobs, not because we believe the narrative.
It actually relieves pressure on the unvaxxed because now it is not obvious who is or isn't masked.
When I go into anyone else's place of business, I am not wearing a mask, because I don't believe the narrative.
If there is an organized protest in our community on one of my days off, I will participate.
I see some degree of non-compliance, but not in hostile behaviors toward business employees who cannot control the directives they are being given.
great way of handling it. My brother and I talk about grocery stores. We assume most store employees dont buy the narrative since gorcery stores never shut down and have likely not seen many get seriously ill around them.
I went to publix today and all emplyees had masks, which wasnt the case a week ago. Obviously all these corps are making the rules.
When masks were mandated for customers I just didnt go, my wife would or I would order online. If they go mask again it will not be the same, I will not comply, I will make every single store I go to either kick me out or leave me be. I will find a based store somewhere, even if I have to drive an hour out of town to get groceries.
I work for myself, which is great, but I dont communicate with many in the reap world so it is hard for me to know what others truly think. Thanks for your insights into what people are thinking.
