An anime cartoon?
Anime can be a fair bit deeper and more involved than most Western cartoons. Some anime can be childish or irrelevant forms of escapism; shows such as Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z are meant more for immediate enjoyment, for example. There are, however, more than a few series that can go pretty deep, where the stigma of "animated shows are just cartoons" doesn't actually fit.
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a good example of this, as it can be pretty philosophical and complex. So can other shows, such as Stein's Gate, and even the "cartoonish" One Piece.
A fair bit of Japanese culture is wrapped up in anime, and over there, it's not just something that's targeted at kids, or shows like The Simpsons or South Park that are just there for a cartoon comedy niche. Anime can get pretty serious fairly easily.
If you watch One Piece for long enough you will be absolutely floored to how they portray the world. They depict literally all of our theories. The one world government covers up child kidnappings and experimentation, while everyone believes they are the good force in the world, just to give you an example.
The Celestial Dragons can't be anything but the satanic Masons. They're at the head of the world and above reproach, free to kill, torture, and enslave anyone they want and at their whim.
They're the "descendants of the creators of the World", and have complete control over the World Government and the Marines. Even the kings and rulers of the individual nations that make up the World Government are subservient the them.
The only difference is that they are completely open with their "superiority" and they don't hide behind symbolism... except for the fact that there's more going on behind the scenes than even they're aware of.
