My local supermarket chain - Giant Eagle - was a huge mask tyrant for most of the past year - they had signs on the door saying that all guests were "required" to wear masks. Now, the idiots are back at it, but there is a big difference - it says that all guests are "requested" to wear masks. I can't wait until the first snowflake asks me to put on a mask so that I can response "Request Denied!".

I really appreciate everyone telling their store stories, with percentage masked, etc. I’m in Ventura California, and we “reopened” later than most. I’m thankfully not in Los Angeles where they seem to have decided to try to up the rules again. My friend living there says it’s still about the same, half masked. In my smaller town, I’m now seeing maybe 40% masked, and no change last week.
Reading how it is in other places helps me get a sense of the trend... and hope. i don’t believe people are going to go back to crazy masking after being freed up for a while. But then, I’m an optimist.
I’m done with masks, never wore them except where I needed to get something from a store, and even then, I stopped long before everyone else did, and rarely got a hassle. I realized I was actually giving other people permission by being mask free. I only now notice masks when I see them on children. Sad.
