I am not sure how the Olympic committee in the U.S. works, but it is apparent that just like the owners of the teams comprising the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, they are way to lenient with the athletes. They need to demand more. If you are on the Olympic team you represent the U.S. You do not go rogue with your political agenda or activism without consequences: steep fine, lifetime ban from competitive sports, no profiteering from business contracts, immediate dismissal from the team and return home your expense and repayment of any monies supporting you in the competition. Same with all major sports teams. These men and women have the potential to make more money in 1 year than the average worker makes in a lifetime. Maybe it is time to put a ceiling on the salaries? There is something wrong when an athlete makes more than a soldier, police officer, fireman, paramedic who risks their lives every day. How much is to much? I would say an athlete starting out $250,000/year is a good salary and $1,000,000 per year is more than the average worker makes in a lifetime.
