Randal punted on election integrity (the vote would have went through with or without his vote mind you) and threw aside his principles to stay in the good graces of the Swamp. He's ramped up your typical political posturing and sternly-worded letters because election season is coming up.

"ThEy CaN't ArReSt YoU aLl!" must be easy for him to say from his gated ivory DC tower.
