I’m at a similar stalemate with my employer. They sent out an email saying “Anyone not vaccinated has to wear a mask”. They can track whether or not we’ve been vaccinated by keeping our vax record on file the same way they do our Tuberculosis test results. They’ve since switched to masks for everyone and I find it hilarious.

As far as a vax mandate, I was looking for a job when I found this one. There are more jobs out there.

One misconception about HIPAA that I want to clear up, though. Your health information is not protected outside of what is called a “covered entity”. Only certain places fall under HIPAA. Basically, only hospitals, doctors offices, and schools.

HIPAA only applies to those covered entities and they protect your information through your life and then 50 years after you die. Nowhere else. I do annual training on it for my job. I’m not shilling, I just know that those who are asleep will latch onto anything they can prove false to try and discredit your whole argument.

As far as your situation, tell the truth. If they want to coerce or retaliate against you for it then tell them to get fucked. That’s my plan.
