Virtue Signaling has always been a thing. Many decades ago Saturday Night Live had a reoccurring character called Church Lady played by Dana Carvey. The original Virtue Signalling was done by people who strove everyday to impress others with how pure they were. To accentuate the purity, the overly pious Church Lady would want to contrast herself to the less godly by putting them down with little verbal slights.

It is a human behavior trait. Now people virtue signal by convincing their children to be trans, so they can post it on social media and get adored.

And the very latest virtue signalling thing is to be proud of your vaccination. It is the same thing: The unvaccinated are impure and just plain selfish scum.

I don't know if the normies are buying into this or not. The media of course is not useful for getting a pulse on everyday people.
