Asheville used to be a great place. Almost had an "autonomous zone". Antigua tried a couple of times but was thwarted. It is heading toward Portland style politics with the city council etc. BUT the surrounding areas are deep red for the most part. Sad... I don't think it will ever make it out of buncombe county.
