Can anyone explain the diff between the 2 major sects of Islam? As a Christian I’m not familiar with them to be honest. 🤷🏼♀️ As both seem to attack Israel, which is the least threat to them as a nation?
Granted the Israel govt has a lot of DS I know, but we still have an obligation to bless the avg people since the Bible does say that. I’m of the understanding their people are oppressed under the control of their govt as well correct?
“I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”” Genesis 12:3
That said, if America wants to be blessed we have to be biblically sound on this.
If someone can explain I’d be happy! It seems to be rather complicated 🤷🏼♀️
Shia and Sunni are two polar viewpoints of Quran.
Shia believe that true interpretation of the Quran, followed Mohammed’s Bloodline. So think kind of Divine Bloodline type stuff. So interpretation of their text is very very limited and narrow.
Sunni believes that interpretation can follow through non-bloodline teachers. Basically studiers and anointed people can interp, ie give the divine knowledge.
Hence why the majority of Radical Islamic Terrorism comes from the Sunni divide.
If Sunni is true interpretation, then Shia are heretics. If Shia is true interpretation, then Sunni are heretics. The existence of the other is heresy (to them). Which in their eyes must be met by violence.
Interesting. So both physically fight each other. Never mind, that was a ridiculous statement since 1 just took power over the other 😂 Carry on fren!
It is a very complicated situation. There are hundreds of various islamic sects, and sub-sects. Sunni, and Shite sects are very broad terms, with a dizzying numbers of sub-sects associated with each.
It's sort of like Catholic sects, Jewish sects, and Protestant sects all within the Judeo-Christian (Bible based) religion. Many, many religions within Islam as well.
My understanding is that the original argument was about who should succeed Muhammed. The Sunnis thought that the successors should be elected and the Shi'as thought a relative of Muhammed should take over.
The words caliph and caliphate come from the Arabic word for successor: khalīfah.
People are strange, aren't they? Think Protestants and Catholics. They can fall out big time even though they are closest to each other. Same wth neighbours. You fall out the most with those who are closest and can find lots of reasons to hate them.
