last week there was large buzz about pelosi stepping down, out of no where. Could it be to fill a new role.... Is it starting to make sense now

If she steps down or resigns from her role that kicks her out of the order of succession. There's a formal process to this and I doubt she would miss the opportunity to stroke her ego on national television. She's been the "bridesmaid" for far too long. Unless you're alluding to a new role of "prisoner" I'm not entirely sure where you're going with this here.
