Maybe the "U.S." Postal service should envision doing their fucking jobs properly. Anyone send a certified mail letter that was actually signed for and not lost in the last 2 years? I work for a busy law office where lots of certified mail has to be sent; not only by me but by the courts to provide summons for new court cases (inform people they are being sued) and for subpoenas, etc. You'd be surprised how many of them, a year later, still say "in transit to the next facility" or some such bullshit. Or, you call them, and they will blatantly tell you it was probably dropped off without a signature. Certified mail. And they're not trying to give you your money back for NOT delivering on the thing you paid for, that's for sure. They suck so bad.
Agreed. You wouldn't believe how many cases we've had delayed for literally months at a time for the simple fact that if you can't perfect service (meaning getting verifiable proof that a defendant has been served with a summons to notify them that they are being sued), you can't continue with a lawsuit.
This means people whose basements are flooding after buying a house are waiting that long for justice to be served. People who paid contractors to fix their homes and got stiffed are also getting stiffed by the post office for mishandling their important court documents. The good news is that some courts have recognized that the post office sucks and have now opened up the possibility of using FedEx or UPS to deliver summons for court cases because they're just more reliable and you can track the mail you send with them.
Sounds just like another criminal plan for an additional coup of power. I seem to recall hearing that one at least one post office location & some contractors being caught with a truckload of 2020 election ballots that crossed state lines. Wondering why we haven't heard about any of those individuals being prosecuted for treason against the United States of America.
