Get out of the Old Testament and read Matthew:24 was not about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 ad. Did the Tribulation happen in 70 ad? Did the Sun turn black for 3 days? Was the man of perdition doing his thing in 70 ad? Did the Anti-Christ go into the Temple and pronounce himself as God in 70 ad?
Nowhere in Matt. 24 does it say the sun will be black. And it doesn't say 3 days either. And yes there was great tribulation at that time. The sun, the moon and the stars are always symbolic of temporal powers. Remember the dream of Joseph. The rapture doctrine was made up by a Jesuit priest in the 1800s. His name is well known although I cannot recall it right now. The purpose of the doctrine was to throw the people off the trail of the pope being the anti-Christ. This false teaching flooded the Christian churches by distribution of the Scholfield bible. We are here to establish the kingdom of God on earth not float off in the clouds. There are many anti Christ. But the Kingdom of God is within you. It really should be the kingdom of God is among you. The "day of the Lord will come as a thief" the day of the Lord is not a rapture, it is judgement. Blessings friend.
Ok! Not black, so here is the verses: 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. The Saints are the Elect! BTW- Rapture is not a word found in the Bible.
Powerful scriptures and thank you for sharing. Yes the saints are the elect. I hope these scriptures are as literal as they sound. Again thank you and I have enjoyed our conversation.
Most of Matthew 24 is about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 ad. To those who talk of a rapture let me point you to Amos 9:7
